Anyone interested in doing a KAL of the Rogue Hoodie from
girlfromauntie.com? I bought the pattern in the fall but am only
now getting around to doing it. Haven't even bought my yarn
yet but am shopping around for it and will probably start in the
next few days. I'd be really glad to have anyone knit along
with me as it seems to be a bit complicated and it would be
nice to have some others to compare notes with. OH, and I'm
making mine a cardigan rather than a pullover...should be fun!

Libbie I was wondering if the pattern you bought have better photos on it than what you see on the web site. I won't be starting another project at the moment but I may be interested in buying the pattern for the future.
If poss could you take a picture of the front page of the pattern of the complete hoodie (if there is such a picture) so I can have a better idea of what I may be buying. Thanks

Hi Karina,

The pattern doesn't really have any photos. It actually just has a line
drawing and then this photo (http://www.girlfromauntie.com/patterns/shop/rogue/detail.php) from the website.

You can do a google picture search for it and find blogs where people
have posted pics of theirs and if you are on Ravelry there's a zillion
people who have done it or are in process and have pics.

I'm following the mod instructions from here (http://www.girlfromauntie.com/patterns/shop/rogue/roguemods.php) to make it a cardigan.
Finished pic of the cardigan version is on this blog (http://claudiasblog.net/2004_03_01_blogarchive.htm).

Hope that helps!
Libbie :)

Hi Libbie
didn't think to use ravelry, i am on there and keep forgetting to use it as a resource. Will have to remember.

Hehe...I do exactly the same thing. The only time I remember to
check things on Ravelry is when someone else mentions it. Good
thing there are people who actually use it for what it's meant to be
used so the lazy people like me can stop in occasionally and
benefit! :)

I've found an interesting "problem" with starting my Rogue. This is
the first sweater I'm making for myself so I got out the tape
measure to accurately figure out what size to knit. Seems my
bottom half needs a larger size than my top half. *sigh* There it is
in black in white, I have a large posterior...all this time I've been
living in denial! :)

I'm not sure if I should knit with larger needles for the hip area to
make the larger size or cast on more stitches and then reduce once I
get past the hips ...guess I better go over to the how-to section
and ask some seasoned sweater knitters for opinions!

I feel for you, have the same problem. Knitting daily just had a whole series of newsletters where they discussed the finer points of altering sweaters IE hips and waist to measure. check on knitting daily and see if you can access the info.

Has anyone actually made this pattern here? I just aquired this pattern (thanks Libbie:happydance: ) and just LOVE it. Not sure when I'll get to it but it is DEFIANTELY om my "GOTTA MAKE IT list!!

I googled it and found several blogs of folks that had completed it and found everything from it's a great pattern to it's a head banger.

My biggest issue at this point is size:oops: I'm just a tad "fuller" figured than the largest size and wondering if simply using a "bigger" yarn and needles will solve that problem.......

OH ARTLADY.......................... this pattern is right up YOUR ALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ginny!

That was my problem with the pattern...or well, the top part would
fit but the bottom well... haha I just got a headache trying to work
out how to get teh bottom to fit with the side shaping going on in
the cables and not have the top be too big!

I just started a pattern that is written in just one size but teh designer
gave tips on how to make it bigger or smaller so I thought I'd share
those directions with you as it might help with Rogue! The pattern is
knit at a gauge of 17 sts = 4" and the final bust measurement is
47.5". Then the designer says if you knit at a tension of 15 sts/4"
you will get a bust measurement of 49.5".

That makes it sound like to me that you can play with the gauge
a bit to increase the size while still following a pattern as written.
Maybe that will give you some ideas!

I too  LOVE  Rouge, but I am...well....bigger. The largest size on the pattern is too small for me by a bit, but I've been too scared to mess with the guage as I've never really done that before. I got the tips from the pattern maker, but still haven't tried it yet. Have any of you?

I have both the pattern and the yarn for it; but at the moment, I'm already doing two other projects...I hope to be done with the Oregon vest one in a week or so...the socks are an on-going project (my first pair).

I've never done a KAL before. What's the procedure?
