I'm new at making socks so please bear with me. When using dpn's is the socks wrong side along the outside or down in the inside of the sock?
Thanks for any help.

The wrong side should be on the inside of the sock as you're knitting.

And if you're finding yours is knitting inside out, you're probably knitting on the side of the needles away from you. Picture your knitting as a cup, and knit from the side you'd be drinking from.

I am knitting inside out and I'm not sure what your saying. Could you please clarify. I can't figure out why it's happening this way. Thanks.

While you're knitting, are the other needles (the ones you're not knitting on yet), are they pointed towards you or away from you? For example, in this picture, the needles are making a triangle pointing away from me.

From the picture you sent, I'm not knitting from the outside edge. I'm knitting from the inside of the triangle. That must mean what I think is needle 1 is different.
It must start when I join the round in the very beginning. If I have a trinagle, I'm starting by putting my empty needle into the row on the left and then going around.
Should I be starting different?

Just turn your sock inside out. That will put the working needles closest to you with the public side out.
