And heavy-weight socks make great cool-weather slippers!

And heavier yarn is just easier to work with. I like my Telemark a LOT.

I enjoyed using a heavier weight yarn because it went so fast! I usually use sock weight and they can take so long. It was nice to see them progressing faster. I would recommend that anyone knitting their first socks use at least a DK weight- it's so much easier to see what you're doing.
