:knitting: I've got a little one for you...
My sewing up skills leave alot to be desired and my question is this, would it work to pick up and knit on a circular needle all the way up both sides of the arm seam, for example, then do a 3 needle bind off, the way I have on the shoulder seam?? or altenatively would it be ok to crochet the seam together? which do you think would be tidier and my main concern is that the whole thing'd fall apart if the end came unravelled, but i guess that'd be fairly unlikely??

ps I know I should really do matttress stitch but seem to have a mental block about it!!

I think it would work if you are careful to pick up every stitch exactly the same distance from the edge.

The one thing that might concern me is that a sewn seam provides some structure to the FO; with the 3-needle bindoff it could look and drape more like a sweater knitted in the round. (Not necessarily a bad thing.)

A crochet seam, on the other hand, can be a little stiff. But it's quick, easy and neat.

I reckon a crochet seam won't be hard to undo again so I'll have a bash! ta
