I'm knitting a boggle set! I'm a boggle fanatic and thought it would be so cool to make the cubes and tray and everything :D Here's my first cube - must finish 16 of them by the end of May. I'm excited the first one turned out though :)

Great job! What a clever idea! What did you use for the letters?

Hi,

Do you play on-line Boggle? My DH and I do. We are not very good. Actually I think we do prety good but they count a lot of things I wouldn't normally think of as words and people get a lot of points on them.

Your Boggle cube is very nice.

I bought transparent labels and printed them. I was going to iron them on at first but there were some mirror-image issues :) Glad the stickers were there as a backup.

Yeah, I'm one of those people who finds the seemingly made-up words! I've spent a lot of time learning them, though I don't know what they mean, other than I win. :) I play on Facebook mostly, there are many boggle apps there.

I think your Boggle cube is nice, and very clever; however, I'm more interested that made up words are allowed. Why? If it's not a real word, what fun is the game? Just curious.

WOW - that's pretty awesome. We used to play Boggle all the time when we where little. Once I reached high school my father got me addicted to Scrabble.

Well there are 2 main dictionaries/word lists that word gamers use, twl (which is used in North America) and SOWPODS, which is a much more comprehensive list than twl and is used throughout the world. Words from other languages have been incorporated into it since it is used worldwide. Definitions can be found for every twl word that exists, but for sowpods it's a little more tricky. It's not that any made-up word can be thrown into the mix, the dictionary is pretty much set in stone (except for the occasional update) and it's up to the player to study it. Since duplicates don't count in boggle it's in one's best interest to know the weirdest words. :) You can download the list here if you'd like http://www.scrabulous.com/sowpods_dictionary.php
