I got all the way thru picking up the gusset. And I was SO proud. I was doing gusset decreases and was going along fine until I picked up the needles again and something was wrong. The first few rows of decreases are correct, but now, suddenly the purl side is showing! Has this happened to anyone else?

Chances are, when you picked your needles back up, you turned them wrong. When knitting in the round, envision the "circle" of your needles as a cup. You will be knitting on the side where you'd normally drink. If you're knitting on the opposite side, your work will be inside out.
