June 14. Do you all have these in your cities? A couple of our yarn shops are organizing them here. I know one is downtown under the Arch and the other is later in the day in another part of the city. St. Louis knitters--are any of you participating in our events? We should meet up and sknit near each other. How fun!

Never heard of such a thing, what a shame that doesn't exist here...

We don't have anything like that here, but for me, any day I have to wait in a waiting room is knit in public day.:teehee:

It's actually Worldwide Knit in Public Day, and people all over the world are organizing events. You might check around to see if anything is happening in your area.

Really sounds like fun, meeting other knitting men haha :D

Found two kip events for belgium, but they're too far away from me... I could ask at the LYS, if I ever get there again (first I have to use up all the 21 skeins I bought last time, for the granny afghan... damn....)

But as I said, I never heard of such a thing, and I'm not the one to host a kip either... :(

I would call your LYS if you can't find something online about an event in your area. They will know if there are any planned because they will probably be participating.

Definitely ask at your LYS b/c I'm sure there is someone else who would like to make a KIP happen but is looking for some help. We have a small knitting group that meets twice a month at our library. Myself and another member just met this afternoon to plan ours. We're gathering at a public park on the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan across the street from the weekly Farmer's Market. We plan to put up posters around town using the information from the KIP website: http://www.wwkipday.com/ We also plan to have a list of local and national charitable knitting opportunities like Guideposts Knit for Kids, Socks for Soldiers, chemo hats, etc.
We'll see you there. Bring a chair and a friend!

Just lug a blanket and find a friend when you get there.
