View Full Version : three hats

Here are some hats I've been working on. The spider-man one is something I put in my son's stocking at Christmas, and I'm pretty sure I haven't posted it here, so I included it. The hat pattern is my own, but I used the spider off of the spidey chart (http://pumpkinknits.blogspot.com/2007/10/spidey-chart.html). My son loves this hat, and wore it all through the winter.
The little hat with the bow is a baby hat I made for a friend, again, my own pattern.
And the last hat I made for Mason's mom, (http://www.knittinghelp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79683) using a slip stitch pattern.
Despite the mile long queue of patterns I've got going on over at ravelry, I've been having much more fun lately creating my own patterns. Now I just need to write them down!

Wow, all 3 of those are awesome! If you get around to writing down the patterns, I would love them! I'm a hat-making fool, and I want to make all 3 of them. I love, love, love them! Great work!

Love all three! Boys (well, not all boys) do love spiders and seems like red and black is popular with them too. I can see why your son wore this hat all winter. The baby hat looks so soft and cushy and the bow is great. I've done some slip stitch color work. While it is easy to do, it is not always so easy to keep it nice and even. You did a great job on this one.
Making up your own patterns is so rewarding, and hats are perfect for letting the creative juices flow. Thanks for sharing.
