View Full Version : Kureyon Felted Bag

This bag is for one of my sisters. I didn't really have a pattern, but had an idea in mind and it turned out pretty close to what I imagined. I originally knit it with a flat strap, but there was so much variation in the thickness of the yarn that the strap came out all wonky after felting. It's the first time I've used Noro Kureyon, and I have to say I didn't care much for it. It was rough and itchy, with little bits of grass here and there. And I was disappointed at how much those gorgeous colors faded when felted. Next time I felt, I'll probably use something else. That said, I'm still pretty pleased with the bag.

That is a beautiful bag! I've never used Noro Kureyon for that very reason..too scratchy even to knit with for me. The colors so pretty though!

I would be too, it's lovely! The strap is really innovative, did you 'just' come up with it yourself?

Yes, out of necessity. I originally knit the bag with a flat garter stitch handle, but because of the variations in thickness of the yarn it didn't felt well. It had wide spots, and narrow spots, and looked just awful. So I cut it out and folded the ends over and stitched them. Then I made the I-cord handle and threaded it through the loops. Now that it's done, I think I prefer it this way.

I love the shape of it - & love the blue you added for the "tassel" - beautiful! I'm always so jealous of people who can design their own things! Good job!

It is FABULOUS, Slim! I rather like the subtle shadings of the yarn! Very classy in appearance, just like you!
