So I do a lot of sock knitting, and it's my preferred project. I decided I needed a separate bag for that, so instead of buying one, I thought I'd make one. I got two skeins of different colored blues (subtle change) to make a bag, and I really like the fibonacchi sequence as a striping pattern.

So I found this bag that's perfect for it, until I read it requires chunky yarn. If I were to use the worsted, however, I believe it'll just come out smaller, which is what I want for a sock knitting back anyway.

Am I right in this assumption?

Thanks!

Yes you could use the worsted with smaller needles (not too small or it won't felt well, use 10½s maybe) or use 2 strands of the worsted, but that might make it too big.

I was thinking on using what the yarn called for -- 8's in this case -- which should make similar, albiet, smaller stitches for a smaller bag.

That's true it will. I'm not sure what needles are in the pattern with the thicker yarn, but I have heard that things to be felted should be made with a larger needle so sts are looser and the fibers can rub against each other to felt. So you could probably go up a bit to 10 or 10½ with the worsted.

Ah, that's helpful! I already own a 10 circular (you can use either circulars or DPNs with the pattern), so I'd like to save myself some cash. ^^

Thanks! You're always helpful, Suzee.
