:muah: Hi All! I'd like to know if knitted pieces are always sewn together "right sides up". Is there ever a time where they are sewn together "wrong sides up"? Thanks!

You can slipstitch, backstitch or crochet seams on the WS. There are also some instances where mattress st is done on the WS to create a ridge (or the selvage sts) on the RS (perhaps on the seam of a hood so the seam is on the outside of the garment).
You might want to read thru the various 'Seam' related chapters here (http://www.studioknits.com/booktoc.htm).

I usually sew my things together on the wrong side, putting the right sides together then holding them in place with bobby-pins while I sew using a simple whip-stitch. Or, if they'll have a lot of tugging and pulling like an afghan, I'll use single-crochet instead.
If you use the same yarn that you made the item with, it holds up quite well.

i usually do backstitch pinning together as well, but after having a quick read (i will read properly later on) cam's sewing link, i'm a gona be changing how i sew up^in the future.
