View Full Version : Request Prayers for DH
06-22-2008, 08:56 AM
I've been scarce here for the last week or so. My DH has been in the hospital. While in the ER for an unrelated problem it was discovered that he has a large abdominal aortic aneurysm, 7.3 centimeters. He is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.
Please keep him in your prayers and/or thoughts. It is a fairly long and involved surgery, and we are both worried. Thank you.

You've got my prayers tomorrow for you and your hubby. My dad had the same surgery not long ago with great success and a quicker recovery than anticipated. Good thing it was discovered now. Take care:hug:

UPDATE: The surgery went perfectly. The doctors were also able to correct the problem that sent us to the emergency room initially. He is still in ICU but not in too much pain. He's more than ready to leave the hospital , since tomorrow will be his 14th day there. He has many tubes and needles going in and other tubes coming out, so it will be a couple of more days at the very least. thank you all for all your kins thoughts and your prayers.

So glad to hear your husband is improving. Hope things continue that way and he is home soon. Recovery is so much easier (at least for the patient) at home.

Dh came home from the hospital sunday evening and is doing very well. Any of you who have ever had someone at home after serious surgery, however, knows how much time is involved in the simplest things. Plus I'm trying to work a few hours each day to get caught up after nearly 3 weeks away from work. One of the down sides of self-employment is the lack of income when one is absent!!! Anyway, things are looking up, and I want to thank all of you again for your many kind thoughts and prayers.:muah: :muah: :muah:

Wonderful news...please be sure to take great care of YOU too - I know how exhausting it can be to go through such an ordeal and I don't want you to get too worn out...gentle hugs to you both!

God Bless, Losnana. Yes, I certainly do know about the after effects of someone who has serious surgery. My DH has undergone so many, but so far so good, and I wish you and your husband the same. It will take time, be patient because sometimes, well, males are like children when they are ill. They are the ones, I do believe who think they should be 'in charge' and when ill - well it is just not all that easy for them - nor you. Please, take care of yourself during this trying time.

Just saw this. How stressful, but I pray all the healing is fast for him.
07-05-2008, 01:04 AM
So glad that he's home again with you, Losana. He'll be a much happier man, and you'll both rest much better.
Just don't let him do to much too fast~~~~~~~~~

So glad he's home! :)
And as Debkcs said, force him to take it slow. Even if he is healed on the outside, the inside will still need time.

I'm glad to hear the surgery went well and you have hubby home with you recovering. Hope his recovery is swift and incident free.
