The woman I made it for wanted easy care, so I used Lion Homespun. I really like how that works up. I simplified the pattern a bit - the pattern calls for a "twisted float" stitch and I just did circles of knit and purl. It's worked on circs so I got a bit of stitch pattern, but subtle.
