Overall lace with mercerized cotton doesn't usually look all that great--it won't block well, either. Maybe you could look at some scarf patterns that incorporate a bit of lace or a cool pattern stitch?

www.knittingpatterncentral.com has a vast assortment of patterns

May I suggest a simple rib pattern ? Right now I am wearing a tank top I made out of Bella Color (a med. wht cotton) . I used a k4 p3 rib.

I am so glad you said its the yarn tahts wrong as i have started it over and over again saying to myself this is a mess, and just looks nasty. I will have a look at knittingpatterncentral (not somewhere i usually look for some reason). i found the pattern i have on ravelry as someone on a new to lace forum recomended the patter for with that yarn.

well, i will try second pattern lucky with this yarn then :happydance:
