I'm making this...

http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTbaseball.html

for my son out of denimstyle. I'm trying to knit the sleeves at one time but they are so heavy!!! (Muscle problem) My muscles are giving way and I think I'm going to have to give up the two at once thingy. I'm so sad, but holding all that yarn is just too much for me.

That's a cool sweater! I made a raglan out of denim style, but I don't remember it being heavy. Can't wait to see it!

Hi Cheesiesmom. Are you using a circular needle instead of a pair of long straight needles to knit the sleeves flat? I find it less heavy to use the circular. As the knitting grows it tends to puddle/rest in the middle of my lap and I'm only really lifting the stitches that are on the solid needle portion not the stitches on the cable. Much less strain on your arms that way.

I have tendon issues in both my wrists/hands, i find that circular needles allow me to knit for longer with less problems.

i have just got some bamboo once and find them lighter still rto work with.

prehaps they could make life easier on you as well.

lovley jumper, your son will look great in it

Thanks all. Jan it is cool, but if you decide to make it (pattern from knitty) check the directions. Sometimes the increases/decreases didn't work out on the size Im making and I had to "improvise." I will definitely try to post a picture when it is finished. Hopefully before August 7, his b'day.

I am working on my Denise circs but I'm finding the two sleeves so heavy, which probably has as much to do with this muscle problem I have as anything. I'm on my second skein of yarn on each sleeve. I have about 7 more inches to go before the bind off, but I may see if I can't find a bamboo circ that will be lighter.

Now I know why I generally stick with socks on dpn. No weight problem there.

Thanks for your input gals!
