View Full Version : Wool for felting recommendations

I've recently been using Rowan's Magpie wool to felt, but unfortunately it's no longer available. Most of the other wools I come across are 'superwash', so presumably won't felt.
Has anyone got any recommendations for other wools suitable for felting?

Anna, I really like Lamb's Pride Worsted for felting. It is easy to work with and comes in really pretty deep colors. Tillie

Paton's felts very well, and is relatively inexpensive.

I used Cascade 220 for a recent felting project - they bajillions of colors to choose from at my LYS, and the yarn felted really well.

Thanks a lot everyone.
Which patons 'type' would people recommend? I can only seen to find wool blends or superwash wools on the UK suppliers web pages?
