I just added another blog to Google Reader and was wondering how many blogs do you all read daily? My currant count is 60:aww:. Is that alot? And they are not even all knitting, there is the LOLcats one, a gardening one and PostSecrets. But most of them do not get blogged on daily, some are maybe 2 times a month.

So how many do all of you read?

About five on a everyday basis and probably ten or twelve altogether.

Not a lot, really. I have a friend who posts fairly regularly and since she lives in Florida and we see each other every 5 years or so, I can keep up with what's going on in her life by reading her blog.

Then I read Yarnstorm (http://yarnstorm.blogs.com/knitblog/) but she's not posting regularly over the summer.

The rest are just hit and miss sites I get from links but really nothing else I read regularly. I guess I don't have that much time after reading posts here and posting to my own (neglected) blog to read much more. When I keep up with my own blog (updates coming in the next day or so!) it takes a lot of time to get everything the way I want it. By the time I am finished I am ready to log off.

And yes, 60 to me seems like a lot of blog reading!

But, if you want to make it 61(what's another blog between friends?) you can check out my blog. I love getting more hits!

I must admit, NONE. With all the KH reading, and all the RAVELRY reading...no time for following personal BLOGS. My KH and RAVELRY participation has already cut into my KNITTING TIME tremendously!:teehee: Time management, time management!

None. I just don't understand why you would want complete strangers reading about your life, everyday. It's just odd to me, but that's what makes the world go round, right? :teehee:

Lump me in the "none" category too. I kind of agree with Bails. I remember one thing my mom used to say to me when I was growing up..."never put anything in writing that you don't want everyone in the world to read". I never kept a journal, had a diary or write in a blog for that reason. I guess if they are private blogs that your family can only access that would be neat for people who have friends and relatives all over the world. I guess I'm just not that much of a social person to care about reading someone's blog and I'm too boring to start one myself.

yeah, I know, kinda funny ain't it! But like I said, I would say 90% of them do not blog daily. Maybe once a week or so. Its not like they all blog every day:oo:. Now that would be scary!

I only read 2 blogs with any regularity (meaning once every couple of weeks). By the time I read KH and glance at Ravelry I'm out of free time. Besides which knitting blogs just depress me b/c these people are churning out sweaters in a matter of days and I'm still on the same pair of socks I started last week and never mind my husbands scarf I started 2 yrs ago - okay a little exaggeration, I got the scarf done is 16months.

I have 57 listed in my Google Reader. Most are knitting but there are some fun ones like Bitchypoo (hilarious) and Pink is the New Blog (gossip). I use it to take a mental break from work when needed. I love looking at all of the patterns people are using. I get inspired and add them to my Ravelry queue.

I read quite alot of blogs. I find it interesting to read about what other people are thinking, doing, and creating. I guess I am just an internet peeping Tom!! Seriously, I love the Harlot, CRL, the Panopticon, Silver, and many others.. It really inspires me and reminds me that we are all human and even though this world seems so big, it isn't really. Moscow, Paris, Calcutta.. are all a click away.

One. All the others I've seen have been incredibly boring.

I use Bloglines to keep up with the ten or so that I'm subscribed to. Most people don't post daily, so it's easy to keep up with...a quick glance and I can tell if I want to continue reading the entire post.

As far as why people blog about their lives? For me, it's a release. When I talk, I don't get things out right sometimes, but I find that writing enables me to express myself the way I want. I've always figured that if nobody's interested, they won't read. I still feel good getting things off my chest, though.
