I am looking to knit a little butterfly to attach to a bag i am making. I have search but all I can find are crocheted ones. Can you help please?

Maybe I can open it up to any other little things I can knit for decoration. I can do a flower but any other ideas?

Have you tried looking a Knitting Pattern Centeral?

http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/animals.php

There were three different kinds of butterflies. I'm not sure if this will help you or not but hopefully it will.

Good luck.

Could you fake a butterfly? Make two small leaves then two larger ones for the wings (big on top, smaller on the bottom) then do a little I-cord for the body.

Check this pattern book.

hollandcrew, wandaT sent me a link for a booklet by Leisure Arts (4352) today and right on the cover is a baby washcloth pattern with a knitted butterfly, the pink one. You might like it.

If my link doesn't work check out hers right near the top of pattern central in my thread: "Info for baby washcloths" or check in Leisure Arts #4352
