"Feminism has fought no wars.
It has killed no opponents.
It has set up no concentration camps,
starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties.
Its battles have been for education, for the vote,
for better working conditions ...
for safety on the streets, for child care, for social welfare...
for rape crisis clinics, women's refuges, reforms in the laws.
If someone says, "Oh, I'm not a feminist!", I ask,
"Why? What's your problem?"

I like this (http://tomatonation.com/?p=677) essay too, for a more verbose version.

Isn't it funny/sad how many women (especially younger women who didn't go through the ERA wars) will say "Oh, I'm for equal rights for women, equal pay, good daycare, funding for girls' sports, workplace reform, etc., etc., etc. But I'm not a FEMINIST!"
