I started this pattern. I'm completely stumped by the instructions "working in established p2, k1 rib pattern, work 8(9)
stitches." Please help anyone, I'm completely confused.

I found a photo of the pattern on-line, but it's small. . .what part of the sweater is this? Can you give a few sentences before and after it so it's in context?
