Hi!!

I really wanted to make baby stockings to turn into a garland - I am knitting the letters into them to spell out Merry Christmas - they are so cute!! I just love them! I am using size 2 needles and Paton's Grace yarn- it is the smallest yarn I could fine! Kellybigeyes gave me the pattern http://www.jeangreenhowe.com/Images/Mini_Christmas_Stockings.pdfand I added the letters from a graph pattern that my mom gave me. I don't have a link for that one. I am having such a good time making them!

Thanks!!

Those are adorable...I admire you taking on that project. How long did it take to make those 2? Be sure to post a picture when you are done! :yay:

Hi!!!

They took me about 2 hours each, but I am not a very fast knitter! Plus, these size 2 needles feels so small in my hands and the yarn is really skinny and tended to slip through my fingers. I had to figure out how to hold it and wrap it more times around my pinky so that I didn't drop it! :-) I think they will be much faster as I go along. Plus, I lost my mind this afternoon when I was trying to knit an E - I did it backwards TWICE!! I was to wrapped up in Oprah!! :-)

Thanks guys! I can't wait to work more!!

I used that pattern for Momwolf's request in the charity link. It was the first time I tried anything like them and the first time I used those tiny needles! I started with cotton yarn, then changed to acrylic and realized that my biggest problem using the size 2s disappeared when I used heavier (acrylic) yarn. Once I got one done, the next ones did get easier and quicker. Have fun!:knitting:

Once you get done, check out the charity thread "I need 850 mini socks" . I think we all agreed to keep making them so we'll be ready to send them to the troops next Christmas, too

Hi Pam!!

I did a stocking for the troops using some acrylic yarn that I had laying around and I had a hard time with the curling. The stocking came out really cute, but I was frustrated the whole time. But, I was using a different pattern and that probably had something to do with it. It was a cute pattern though - HereHere (http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/photos/free_pattern/stockings6.html) I hope I did the link right! :-) It is a super cute pattern, but not as fast and easy the current pattern.

Thanks!!
Amanda
