I have a sweater pattern from Interweave Knits that I really like, except that it has bobbles... It's this one (http://www.interweave.com/knit/interweave_knits/Galleries/bonus/fall_2006/wanderlust2.asp).

I really don't like bobbles--don't like the way they look and I don't like making them. My question is--since the bobbles are just worked over one stitch in the chart, could I just knit that stitch? Would it affect gauge?

Thanks!

I can't advise on gauge if you omit them, but I can agree that Bobbles are a bit unpleasant.

I'm not sure. You could knit a swatch and see?

Ick I don't like bobble either. Leave 'em off and just do a k1 in their place. I don't think it will affect the pattern gauge so much as the cables do.
