View Full Version : FO: BABETTE, 3 pc set
01-06-2009, 04:51 PM
The Pattern: "Babette"
The Book: Rowan Cocoon Collection
The Yarn: 10 skeins Rowan Cocoon (70% Merino/30% Kid Mohair)
Color: Emerald #814
This sweater knit up really fast. A great pattern, with no errors. How's that for a novel idea? I thought patterns without errors were a thing of the past!
The scarf and cloche are in the same yarn.
I'll wear the cloche and scarf with "Babette" when the weather calls for it, or with my black and white herringbone winter coat, but without Babette. I'd feel like a stuffed sausage with Babette and the winter coat. I think.
Anyways, I hope you like it, and thanks for looking.

Hey there Dustina! :waving: This would be a good sweater to cut your teeth on. It was incredibly easy and fast! The Something Red (top down raglan) is also easy...but Babette is easier.

Beautiful....love the scarf!

I will have to block the scarf a bit afterall. It wants to roll into itself. Maybe blocking will take some of the pluck out of it!

ArtLady, I haven't looked at this folder for quite a while so I'm just seeing this set. Very, very nice. I love the color. Did the little hat pattern come in that book as well? I've seen a cloche pattern somewhere in a magazine (not the pattern I don't think, just a picture). I love the look. Very '20s. Wonderful work.

Hi Judy! The cloche was a Ravelry download. I think I paid a few dollars for it, but the pattern was worth it! Totally!
This yarn is super warm! I have to be careful what I wear with it or I will roast!
I do love the pattern, the color and the feel of the yarn!

Very nice! Can we see the sweater modeled? :poke:
Is the pattern on the sweater seed stitch? I can't tell. If so, you are going to be cursing through that Sylvi coat! :)
01-20-2009, 04:50 AM
Babette is double moss stitch.
Oddly, I don't mind seed stitch, especially with super soft single ply yarn! With a bulky or chunky yarn the pattern develops very quickly and before ya' know it, yer done! My cream yarn for the Sylvi is Rowan's POLAR...and it's as soft as Malabrigo or Cocoon!
I should model it, however, I'm waiting for a sunny day so I can set the tripod up outside in front of the blue spruce tree! Stay tuned. I'll do a modeling day on several things I've knit recently!
You're so sweet to ask!
