Has anyone here ever used the technique used for "Swing Needles"? It is said to produce a horizontal rib, garter, or stockinette.

The Yarn Harlot mentions them in today's entry, as well as saying that the technique could be done with long dpns or a circular needle, "...push(ing) the work from one end to the other...".
If you have done so, please tell me about your results!

I read the Yarn Harlot's post and it sounds interesting, but not something I think I'd use. I don't tend towards the novelty yarns and I don't need more ways to spend money on knitting supplies.
