View Full Version : Love this pattern, but need guidance

I L-O-V-E this blanket but need some guidance because so far the only thing I've made is one dishcloth. This blanket seems simple enough, I know how to do the stitch but here are my questions:
1. How to start a new row with a new color?
2. How do I use the circular needle to knit this? I've not seen an example of how to knit flat things on a needle like this.

Are there some good videos somewhere to show me the answers to these questions?

Any other advice you'd give a newbie on this pattern?

You use a circular to knit flat the same as you do straight needles; at the end of the row, swap the ends so the sts are on the needle in your left hand. To add a color on a new row, drop the old color and start knitting with the new one, leaving a tail to weave in later, 4" or so.

There are also some really great videos under the "view videos" tab of this website. The "advanced techniques" and "tips" pages will probably help. I learned a LOT from watching those videos when I was just starting (and still use them ;) ). Good luck!
