KnittingHelp is now on Twitter:
http://twitter.com/knittinghelp
and Sheldon mentions a new product that Amy is considering for the KH shop.

It's a compact tool that includes a cutter, measuring tape, lockable counter, storage compartment, and more useful items! It can even be worn around your neck to keep it handy, and the website says that it is TSA-approved! This is one cool tool!

He provides a link to the product's website (thank you, Sheldon!), but I'll repost it here for those interested:

Thanks for the Re-Tweet!

I don't think they are ready yet. I believe they'll be shipping in March. But they look pretty cool. We're hoping to get them into our KnitShop as soon as they are available. Amy so wants one for herself!

That's really cool! I have all those things in my bag right now. It'd be great to have everything together! Any idea how much that will cost?

We have no idea how much they are. Still waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. Hopefully less than the sum off all the things if bought separate! :)

I was just thinking the other day I needed to do a search for a tape measure/row counter combination. I guess I'll just have to wait. This sounds awesome!

If you go to the Specifications link it says retail about $19.99. Sounds like a great Birthday...or just cause you're special present to me....

Update
Sheldon posted that these will arrive in the shop next month!:cheering:

It is true! :cheering:

We have already placed an order and we are just waiting for the manufacturer to have them ready and ship them to us. That should be sometime in March. We are quite excited to be one of the first online stores to carry them. The price will be $19.95 I believe. The manufacturer was strict about us not discounting. I guess they don't want to cheapen their product. We may allow people to pre-order them from our store soon and throw in free shipping as a bonus.

More when I know more...

That is great . Does the free shipping count for us knitters that live outside the US ?

I wish we could, but with the shipping costs we'd be spending more than we'd make. International shipping costs are prohibitively expensive.

:inlove: I have whined repeatedly about forgetting an essential when I toss my supplies in my sack as I head off to work or a road trip. Problem solved! I'll be keeping my eyes peeled. Under $20 is a good deal for the convenience.

We got our order of KnitKits in and have added them to our store. Check them out: http://tinyurl.com/dfadkn

Amy also linked up a video in Youtube (not Amy's video) showcasing the KnitKit. Gives you an good idea of the relative size and function of it.

Enjoy!

Tis the price set by the manufacturer. She was strict about not discounting it. I guess because it's new.

:cheering: I ordered one!

Just returned from a plane trip and will be leaving again in May for a trip cross country, can't imagine a handier tool to have with me!

It's like a Swiss Army knife for knitters!

It's like a Swiss Army knife for knitters!

They should add a yarn swift and ball winder, a knitty-knotty, maybe a drop spindle too! It would be the ultimate tool! Probably wouldn't fit in a knitting bag though.
