I want to get a 16" circular to bump me up to free shipping in KnitPicks. I have size 1, 6 and 9 with a 16" cable. I have an interchangeable set so I'm good for longer cables. Which size do you think would be most useful? Thanks!

It depends what you're going to knit that small. A 16" is too small for socks unless you use two of them, probably for mitts, too; but they're great for hats and sleeves.

I bought myself three 16 inch needles, sizes 6, 7 and 8. I went through a bunch of free patterns from Ravelry and these 3 sizes were the used the most for hats. And so far, I have been very happy with them.

Those are the ones I plan to get (eventually). Also size 5.

I also have a 6, 7, and 8 in 16 inch.

I think Sue means too 'large' for socks.. unless you're making them for the Jolly Green Giant or Big Foot...then you might need to use a 24 inch. :teehee:

Oops, yeah, I meant 16" is too long for socks. Not enough tea in the system when I posted that...
