View Full Version : Please help me salvage my edge

So I already ripped the edging off my blanket once because I messed up the broken rib (I had the wrong number of stitches or something like that) and I really don't want to have to do it again.

I picked up stitches and intended to use the garter stitch around the border of a stockinette blanket. Unfortunately, since I am a new at this I didn't realize that it matters that you start with purl instead of knit. So I have 2 rows of knit and I'm into my 1st row of purl, and then I looked down and said - wait, this isn't going right either!

Is there some decently pretty way to salvage my edge without having to rip it out again? It only needs to be about an inch or two tall, so I don't have much space to work with. Like 2 rows knit, 1 row purl, 2 rows knit, 1 row purl, bind off? Or 2 knit, 2 purl, 1 knit, 1 purl, bind off? Or ... ? At least it looks like I might finally be getting the adding a stitch at the corner right this time (I messed it up on another blanket as well).

Thank you for your advice!
