I wanted to try to make a sweater but came across this & I figured since it was small I would give it a try then find a sweater. Granted I don't have a baby but I am sure eventually someone I know will. So far so good I like the pattern its very simple but I am dreading the sleeves(its something new & looks a tad bit confusing)

Very pretty! I like the color -- it'll be great for a baby boy.

Not to worry... you're knitting it in the round and the sleeves are as easy as pie. I should know I did mine 3 times... LOL!:teehee:
I've done sweaters on straights and the sleeves too... circular is so much better and so much easier.
For instance, you already have the sleeves started. All you will do after that is to take the sleeves off from the main body of yarn and put them on a scrap yarn to hold them.
Then you can just continue knitting the body until that's done and come back and pick one sleeve up at a time on a circular or on dpn (so easy on the circular using magic loop) and keep knitting and following the pattern.
You are off to a good start. I love the colour and the knitting you've done so far.

p.s. Can you give out the pattern? I have a niece who is expecting and I think that would make a fabulous present.

Great little project. It is coming along very well. The sleeves won't be bad. Baby sweaters are a good place to start (and stay as far as I'm concerned, I love them. :-) ).

Looking good. I like your idea of starting small to se ehow it goes and you're right, eventually you will find someone to gift it to.
