Well, sort of an FO. I may do a few more, but we'll see.

My own pattern (in the March KAL thread), Plymouth Encore DK and size 2 US DPNs.

And just to see how it would work I used some Bernat Baby Jacquards.

What's inside the egg sockette? A real egg? A foam egg?

If its foam, these would be adorable baby gifts! Colorful, cute, small, and safe!

They're INCREDIBLE, Jan!!!! :cheering:

Wow, thanks everyone! I inserted a plastic egg. It's a little awkward to do the last few rows with the egg inside, but the result is worth it. Stuffing looks to wonky.

If you put some beans in it and then sealed it with glue I guess it could be a rattle. ;) Not sure how the glue would wash though, but maybe the knitting itself would hold it tight anyway.

Wonderful idea, Jan, and I love the colors. Been wondering what to do for my DGD, and these would be a great magic loop project, I think.

Very cool. Though I'm a bit at a loss as to how you manage to knit once the egg is inside.

It's awkward for sure, but you just work your way around. It's only about 3 rows so it's not for long.

Huh. I wouldn't have thought you could squeeze the egg in that close to the end. I guess you put the smaller end through first?

Nope, fat end. Knitting stretches.

Thanks for telling us that you put the egg inside. I was wondering how you got them so perfectly smooth. I was thinking that would be hard to achieve with stuffing. These are really cute. You got the egg shape just right with the knitting. These will be nice Easter decorations and great for and Easter egg hunt.

Not that you haven't got enough praise already for these, but I'm going to add to it. Those eggs are a really cute idea! Kudos to you for the idea and great use of pattern! :)
