Just some questions regarding stitch types:
I am wanting to find this stitch that looks a bit like chain mail. I cant even find a swatch to show what it is I am looking for, links would be brilliant for me to show you what I mean.

Second question, to make a baggy tunic style jumper in 4mm needles 70cm long, how many 100g double knit balls of wool would you need?

For the yarn amounts--
Depending on the size, this http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80453AD.html?noImages=0 takes 10 -14 of 85g balls, which are 103 yds per ball, in other words, 1000 - 1500 yds. So depending on the yardage you get from the yarn you want to use, you could figure from there.

Sorry for not being clear, its not chainmail as in armour chainmail. I wanted to knit a tunic where the stitches look like they are loops, rather than rows. I cant explain too well though, which is so very helpful!
