Does anyone know who makes this yarn? I've tried several google searches based on the color names, but had no luck. I'd even be happy with something that looks similar (really chunky, with the varying width of the strand)

Thanks!

Where did you find the picture?

From a wesite that you can buy handknit items from. But I don't want to buy them since I can knit! Those were the color choices you could choose from.

Ahhh I see. Well, the names are so common it's going to be hard to find them. If I come across anything I'll post.

Hmm, perhaps they are custom spun/dyed by the person who is selling the handknit items? Maybe send an email to the seller or the site to ask what kind of yarn it is - like a brand name/fiber content, etc. You don't have to mention that you don't want to buy the handknit items, you could just mention that you've been browsing the site and came across the yarn and loved it and wanted more info... perhaps you have an allergy to certain fibers and need to know the content? If they could give you a brand or something, then it would make your search a heckuva lot easier! :)

Good luck in your quest! <3

What does it say for the fiber content? It must list that somewhere on the site. . .
Can you give a link to the page/site where you found it?

I just looked through yarndex, searching for colors cleopatra and peter rabbit and came up with nothing. Which means likely the knitter is hand-dying her yarns, or is re-naming the colors from the manufacturer. But try posting a link to the page or site, and see if we can figure this out.

I have wool yarn that is similar to knit thick and thin. See here. http://swcheng15.xanga.com/694522108/the-stitches-convention/

I got it at the Stitches convention from Woolstock yarn shop. It's called Ull-Flame, but I think it might be discontinued.

If you look on their site in their yarn bin closeout section, you can see some of their similar yarn starting on the bottom of the second page.

Yeah, I went to Yarndex too. The closest thing I could find was "Super Gigante" which is 100% wool, but it seems hard to find.

The fibers are just stated as "mixed". I agree with you about the 're-naming'

It could be they're colors for the items available on the site, not for the yarn.

Thanks everyone. I finally got a response from the site, they spin their own! And it's not for sale *sob*

Aww...sorry. Did you try the link I posted? It has some thick/thin yarn in their closeout section.
