Hey everyone!

So I decided to enter a project into the State Fair this year, and so this is the project I'm working on. I kind of feel like it's a win-win situation, even if I don't win, it'll still be fun to enter, so I still win!! :P

Anyways, I started it on May 7th, and I'm already almost half way done! I might expand on it and make the blanket a little bit bigger than the pattern is originally, but here it is:

I got the pattern from Ravelry here (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/radiating-star-blanket)

UPDATE -06-05-09, IT's done!! :cheering: :woohoo: :woot:

In natural light:

With flash, you can see some of the flaws, I hope the judges won't see them though!!

Another angle:

Close-up of the stitches (I'm still trying to block it even though it's acrylic in the hope that it stops curling!! )

Artlady.. it's just basic Red Heart Super Saver I think. I never keep the wrappers, I bought it at Wal-Mart.

Looking good! How soon do you have to have it done?

Good luck!

Well I definitely have to get it done before the June 5th deadline if I want to enter it into the fair. I have final essays due this week and then finals after that so I'm *trying* to be disciplined and not knit and focus on school work. It's so tempting though!

I've put it in my Queue at Rav! Lovely.

Yay, it's finally finished! Go to the first page to see the pictures. Technically, I'm still trying to block it (please oh please stop curling even though you're acrylic and done in stockinette!!! ) and I need to weave in the ends, but still pretty much done with it!

Oh and any advice about blocking it?? Right now I just pinned it to my mattress in the hopes that it would stretch out? Should I wet it? Should I iron it with a piece of fabric over it? Suggestions?

It's really lovely, all your work really paid off, and I'm betting it will be one of the nicest knitted things there. Great color, too.

I don't either. If the judges say something, that's when you explain how you deviated from the pattern to add personal design elements.;)

Great job on a great blanket!
