Socks for me at long last. My photography does not do the colours justice. I really love them. I tweeked a stitch from a pattern book, really easy 2 row pattern. The yarn is Regia Kaffe Fassett Amazon and is so much prettier than the photo!

I am IN AWE! These are the nicest socks! I did notice the pattern stitch right away, and then I read your words below that you'd done them special! Very nice indeed! Be proud!

The stitch is from a knitting stitch dictionary sort of modified. It is so easy! 1st row: k3, purl3
2nd row: k

That is it!!! In the stitch dictionary it alternated the knits and purls after each 12 rows to make sort of elongated blocks, but I wanted fast and easy. Multiples of 6. I cast on 66 stitches.

They are beautiful :yay: I can't wait to tackle my first pair... I read here persons mention great job with your striping, I never thought about that. If you buy like 2 sock yarns lets say one for each sock so you have to think about where to start on each ball of yarn to ensure equal stripes or same stripes on each sock.... I'm new to knitting and its the little and big things that make all the difference, I have loads to learn.:knitting:

This is what I do to match it up well: if the socks are made from 2 balls of wool I get them both to start on the same colour sequence. I might have to wind some off one ball until I come to the same for both balls. Then I break it off so they are both the same.
If it is one big ball I just knit one sock at a time, but write down the colour sequence I am starting on eg: 3" blue, 5"yellow, 24"black.

Then when I knit the second sock I can start at the same place.

But lots of people do not mind different socks and just knit them straight off. (and they look very funky)
