Just when it was time to sew the ends on the Broadstreet Mittens from hell I lost the only tapestry needle I had. I had to use a toothpick:roflhard: The mittens have tested every ounce of patience and creativeness I can muster

very creative! i always buy the pack of 2 needles cause i am bound to loose the first one after its first use... the second usually goes missing after a few months...

i think my couch eats them

You can usually accomplish whatever it is needs doing with a crochet hook.

That toothpick is such a clever idea! I know what you mean about losing needles, I usually use a crochet hook.

As far as Kitchener stitch goes, I recently found this method with a knitting needle:

That's so funny! Very creative!

I keep all my little bits (tiny scissors, stitch markers, needles) in a hinged metal tin that came filled with SweetTarts candy. I know lots of people use those Altoid tins. Well, I bought a strong magnet (meant to be used as a sew-in purse clasp. I stuck it to the inside top of my little tin, and my metal needles stick right to it on the inside so I can find them easily. And when I'm working on a project, the magnet is strong enough that if I set my needle down on the outside top of the tin, it hold the needle there so it doesn't run away from me when I'm not looking.
