View Full Version : Blue, the Garbage Man!

My husband is all way into recycling these days. We have more recycle than wet gargage. So, I had this brilliant idea! To make life easier for me in the kitchen! No more scoldings from DH about separating the recycle!

I converted my normal-size kitchen trash can to ALL RECYCLE.
And I bought this cute little peach color trash can for WET.
With a wonderful swinging closure! Presumably, it will keep out the occasional fly, and the occasional DAWG!

Yeah right. Enter Blue the Hound Dawg!

I let Blue sleep in the house last night. In the family room, with gates up across the kitchen door. My husband was awakened in the wee hours of the morning to an unusual sound in the kitchen!

Upon tip-toeing out to the kitchen, he spots the body of huge DAWG extending out thorough little swing opening of the little WET trash can.

Blue is startled by John's shout! Blue bolts! But, the top of the trash can is now stuck on his head, like the best Elizabethan Collar any Vet could sell ya!

John put him out in the kennel, trash can lid and all. I got up later to see this sad face of guilt in lockup!

And here is my little trash can, all put back together!
Yes, I nearly had to take butter to him to get it off!

:rofl::rofl: That's why i keep all my closets in the kitchen locked with all sorts of devices (you know that IKEA thing to help you put a tight shoe? i have it places through 3 closets handles). Because my DAWG will sit quietly while the cat does the bad thing and sneaks into the garbage!

Poor Blue. (you have to laugh) I feel your pain. I have 3 dogs and
2 cats. The male cat and the male dog are in kahoots. The cat gets on the counter and swats things down to the dog. (Like for instance, my contact lens case w/ lenses inside!) The dog then eats or destroys whatever the cat sends him. (He has a preference for soft contact lenses...especially the left eye.)

Maybe you should get a can like this.
I got one for my daughter and I don't think a dog could get into it. :teehee:

 Well....just think - if you ever need one of those collars for the dog and the vet tries to charge you their outrageous fee for it, just tell them no thank you - I have my own
