I'm planning on making blankets for my young neices and nephew for Christmas. I've found a pattern that I really like, which uses 7 different colours. The pattern calls for Rowan wool/cotton (dk weight). It would cost me waaaaay too much money if I were to use this yarn (need a total of 14 skeins per blanket). I'm hoping to keep each blanket under $100. Any suggestions? I need a yarn that is offered in lots of colours. I was thinking about using Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo - would bamboo be appropriate for a baby blanket? Any thoughts are appreciated!

well here in Canada the sirdar snuggly would also be very expensive. I would use one of the yarns from Michaels, Caron has some lovely soft yarn I'm not sure about the colour range

Find another DK weight yarn that is about the same gauge which those two are. It doesn't have to be exact for a blanket since it's not a fit issue as with a garment.
