I've got a couple of projects I'm working on: An Entrelac Scarf and my first pair of socks on DPNs (which really took some getting used to!). Now I just have to figure out how to combine the two (I want some entrelac socks!) I've looked at some freebie patterns out there, but I'm not really "getting" how to work entrelac in the round. :wall:

Anyway, an Entrelac Scarf for my hubby in Espresso Lion Brand Cotton (solid color by his request..ugh.. I wanted to practice using two or more colors..)

and I just started my first pair of socks (can you really call it a "pair" before you start the second sock? ) using some city tweed from KP.. I don't really like this yarn (reminds me of my dads socks..lol!) but I figured I would use it to practice on before using the sock yarn in my stash that I love.

Both are very nice. :yay: The scarf is really neat. I am not ready for socks yet, maybe this winter.

Your scarf is beautiful I cant wait to make one. I need to narrow down the yarn.
Also, Eunny Jang (I hope I spelled her name right) did a write up in Interweave about enterlac and it was a pattern in there for the socks. My mind slips me sometimes, but I think it was in the round. Check issues last year. Actually I have it at home I will look and see unless someone beats me to it.

Thanks :D

Hmm, is there a way to see the old issues online? I just recently started knitting and don't have a collection of mags just yet..

Wonderful projects!

The skein with the little specks of color: is that the City Tweed DK? If so, what colorway is it? I love it! I have the color cards for both weights, but I didn't see yours, or, my monitor is off-kilter!

Nice work on both! I'd love to learn how to do both socks AND entrelac.

Nice work on both! I'd love to learn how to do both socks AND entrelac.

Both are simple you take it one stitch at a time.

There is are good instuction on entrelac at:

http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/d...f-pattern.aspx (http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/daily/archive/2009/01/30/entrelac-tips-and-a-free-entrelac-scarf-pattern.aspx)

and good instruction on socks at:

Silver Socks (http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/)

IMHO toe-up-socks are easier because you don't have to pickup gusset stitches, but everyone to their own opinion.

BUT MOST IMPORTANT is that you have people from all over the world waiting here at KH to help you at the drop of a post.

Sorry it took me a while to get this.. I thought I had subscribed to the thread for email alerts, but I guess not :(

Its actually stroll tweed (well, its labeled as Essential, from before they changed the name), but its fingering weight in Ash (http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/Stroll_Tweed_Sock_Yarn__D5420150.html)..

I just started my entrelac in the round socks. I love this technique, but I am running into a huge problem with the top triangles. I am using the sock pattern from the book Entrelac: The Essential guide... (I did an entrelac scarf before and that was perfect, so I am not sure what I am missing.)

Could you perhaps share the link to your pattern so that I can compare them to see where I am going wrong?

This is a really old thread. It might be best to start a new one so your questions get the attention they deserve. I don't have the book or the pattern, someone else who currently posts here might, but maybe if you can say specifically what you're having a problem with, give a line or two of the pattern, it will be easier to help you. Meanwhile, I used this video when I learned entrelac in the round and will go back to it when I do it again. You might find something helpful in it.

I'm actually thinking I'll do a pair of entrelac socks for my granddaughter so this is of interest to me also.
