I need advice/consensus on this: working on a sweater sleeve ...
I'm supposed to dec 1 st at each end every 4th row, 5 times. At first I thought I should do the decrease in row 1 and then every 4th row, 4 more times for a total of 5. But now I'm wondering if I should have knit 3 rows and then in the 4th done the first decrease and then repeat THAT 4-row set 4 more times. bottom line is do you do the decrease at the beginning of the set or at the end of the set?
You who have more sweater experience, what do you think?
Thanks ...

Yes, the 4th row is the 4th row, so you knit 3 then dec on the next row; work another 3 and dec on the 4th, etc.

Some patterns will say - dec on this (or next) row, then every 4th row, but this doesn't appear to be the case. For a sleeve, you want a few rows before the first dec.

Thank you, funny how sometimes we just need somebody else to say what we suspect but don't want to be true. I'll be taking out that row I did last night before what the pattern meant dawned on me.
