Does anyone know of any sites that sell yarn & pattern kits like knit picks does? i love buying kits but i'm not a huge fan of the one's KP has right now, other than the sweater kit i bought.

I think elann.com does, or has in the past. Though I'm not sure they have patterns with them, it's more like the samplers. I'll check them out and let you know.

eta - I looked up the elann Yarn group on ravelry. Apparently they do offer samplers for only about $18, but the offer is only for a week or while supplies last. The last one ran from 10/5-12, and I think they're gone. They don't include patterns, but there's a lot of free ones on their site. But you might check in on the group (http://www.ravelry.com/groups/elann-yarns), the last was for light weight fall/winter yarns, they may have some medium or heavy weight samplers coming up.

Lots of them at these sites.. I knew the first one, but the others I just typed in knitting kits in Google.

There's more, but that's a start.

Yarn and Fiber also has kits (http://www.yarnandfiber.com/catalog/projectkits.php), and... free shipping.

These and the links Jan posted are all project specific though, so I don't know if that's what you're looking for.

Try Annie's Attic and Mary Maxim too.

LionBrand also sells them. Here's the one on sale this week.

You have to have a sign-in account...but, it's free.
