Does anyone know of a site or video that shows what the markers are and how to use them?: Margie :knitting:

I don't really know of any videos, but really all you do is put it around the needle before the stitches that you want to mark.

Markers are short pieces of yarn, plastic rings, or sometimes small round safety pin like items that you put on the needles to mark where you increase or decrease, or mark off sections of stitches. You slip them from one needle to another as you're knitting so they travel up the piece with you. Sometimes, yarn or a removeable marker might be used to put in a stitch instead, in order to measure a length from that point.

Here are some pictures of different types of markers. As has been mentioned, you can even use a length of contrasting color yarn tied around the needle, not too tightly though. You want it to slide easily.
