upon completed row of k4, yo, sl1, k1, and psso, when i psso looks like it passes over 2 sts, and forms a bar across stitch....

The psso does form a 'bar' across the stitch. You can see where the stitch is around the stitch that you knit.

Make sure that when you pass the stitch over that you're passing the slipped stitch--NOT the stitch that resulted from the YO. That may be why you're passing over 2 stitches.

Yes, make sure you're passing over the slipped stitch, not the YO. It should kind of look like the opposite of a k2tog. You can also use ssk for this decrease. Slip 2 sts separately as if to knit, put the left needle into the front of them and knit them together.
