Just popping in for a quick hello! I haven't had much online time of late, but I did manage to write a short story over the weekend and just published it online.

If anyone is interested, it can be found here: http://masonm.joeuser.com/article/369288/Old_Dog

It isn't a great piece of work, but I enjoyed writing it. I hope some will enjoy it.

Back to the road.

Mason, that was a great story. Very descriptive, too. You can feel yourself in the diner with them. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed it.

Wow, Mason, just wow! It's a wonderful, sad story! There's just enough description to allow the reader to "see" the setting, the characters, and enough to make the reader wonder how much of the story actually reflects the author's life, without the story being lost to description. And, the story comes full circle. I'm not left feeling something was missed or there's an unanswered question; the story has resolution.

I must admit, my eyes began welling up there at the end. A truly well written story indeed!

Great story Mason!
It would be perfect as an episode of 'The Twilight Zone'.

Great story, Mason. As I recall, that Gorge is for real . . . and just as dangerous as you wrote.

I was sitting up until early this morning working on my 'opus'. Writing is good for the soul!

Anything in particular make you decide on a fifties style diner?
