looking for a very plain very simple adult size blanket pattern in garter stitch. i've only been able to find small blankets and baby blankets. i know for something so simple i could adjust the number of skeins and the number of stitches and rows but i'm not very good at that. any direction would be great. thanks!

If you aren't a member of Patons sign up to see these. It's free and so are the patterns.
All you have to learn for the log cabin blankets is how to pick up the stitches and that's super easy. And you just keep going till the blanket is the size you want. You can change colors or keep it all in one color and it'll still be beautiful. Or you can make log cabin squares and sew them together for a whole different look.

I haven't seen one that is all garter stitch but have a very easy one that is all stockinette with garter stitch borders. I made a baby blanket out of Encore Worsted like that. The pattern is in "The Encore 8-Hour Baby Blanket Leaflet." I also have another leaflet by Encore with the same afghan in a larger size - "Done by Monday Afghans.'" Very easy pattern done with double strand worsted and a size 13 needle. Goes very fast. The baby one takes four 100g balls and the adult takes 10.

The blankets I do are always patchwork style that makes them more colorful and I can actually put them down and pick them up again without much trouble. If you aren't using anything bulky yarn wise you could make squares with the following pattern. Then just make a ton and use a matress stitch and sew them together.
I always do patchwork blankets I've made two now and my son loves his. I'm going to have to make one for my daughter but wanted to use something a little more lacey but that pattern which probably would come out lacey ish doesn't work well at all with the bulky yarn I'm using. So good luck. You can always just make plain squares and pick how big you make them.

Really? There are lots of them. All the ones I linked to are garter. I especially like the log cabin and it's variations.
