That is exciting. I put out my hummingbird feeder, but I haven't seen any yet. I'm hoping to plant some flowers/flowering bushes to attract them this year!

We saw one in our butterfly garden a few days ago... my husband thought it was an abnormally large bee. I just put the feeders out for them.

I love watching them. I just heard my first whip-0-wheel of the year, last night.

Hi! :waving:

I just realized that I've got to make up some H'bird necter and get it out in the feeders. If the little guys aren't around yet, they'll be looking for a square meal very soon!

They are so magical!!!

We haven't seen them yet here in Va. My DH bought some flowers a couple of years ago and they bloom with red flowers. The Humming birds love them, I did buy a feeder this year and I am putting it out today. Hope they come and feed. I love to watch them from my kitchen window.

I live in southern CA and we've been seeing them quite a while. They love our blooming fuchsias!

I haven't seen any yet. But I do have the feeder out.

We saw one in our butterfly garden a few days ago... my husband thought it was an abnormally large bee. I just put the feeders out for them.

I thought I was getting buzzed by a very large bee when I was out hunting once. The little hummer about got shotgunned.
You may question why I'd shoot a bee ... but it was a really large "bee" and that was what I had at the time.

Very exciting. I keep a yearly log of when the hummers arrive here in my yard in San Antonio, Texas. Most years they are here by mid-March, the latest is around the 20th. But this year, the first one was 15 April, so I was really thrilled when he showed up. Still have only a few sightings, tho the feeder is visible from the kitchen window.Usually there are more than one vying for places at the feeder, but so far only see one at a time. linknit41

I have a hummingbird feeder in my closet that I would love to put out... but I live in a studio apartment and I don't have any outside space (we aren't allowed to hang things out of our windows). So the feeder has to stay in my closet until I get a house.

A couple of years ago when I spent the summer in Alaska, we kept a jar of fresh flowers on the picnic table between the trailers (I was a tour guide in just about the middle of nowhere) and had regular hummingbird visitors. My coworker had a close encounter one day while she was sitting out there, and the bird actually stuck around instead of doing a fly-by. Unfortunately I didn't know it and opened my door and scared it away.
