I'm trying to create a neckline and the patter stipulates to cast off 1 stitch at the end of the row.... but how do i do this?

i usually cast off by knitting two and pulling the first stitch over the second... but this won't work for creating a neckline will it?

actually pattern says

keping armhole edge straigh dec one st at neck edge on the next 5 rows.

That says dec, not cast off, so you can do a k2tog on the RS and p2tog on the WS row.

And even if a pattern says cast off, if it's just for one stitch, a dec looks better.

I usually knit 2 together when I'm decreasing 1 - like Suzeeq, I think it looks better.
