Most of y'all are probably familiar with the Mason Dixon Ballband Dishcloth pattern (available here (http://www.peaches-creme.com/freeknitbath.htm), for free).

Well, I love my knit washcloths, and I am desperate for more, so I decided to knit a couple of new ones. I figured the ballband texture would be great for scrubbing.

Here's the cloth I made, using the original pattern:

I used size 4 needles, taking advantage of the Peaches 'n Creme in Cornflower and Hot Green that I had in my stash.

While I was pattern hunting, I noticed one for a Mitered Ballband Dishcloth (a free Ravelry download available here (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mitered-ballband-dishcloth)). It's a very cool take on the original, so of course I had to knit one...

For this cloth, I used Hot Orange and Hot Green (Peaches 'n Creme), again on size 4 needles.

I am so happy! Two more washcloths!

I agree, that is one cool pattern! I've done the original several times (Christmas colors-like a chimney), but this variation is calling my name.

Awesome! I just checked out the mason-dixon book from the library and was eyeing that pattern. I used to be biased against dishcloths as knitting projects, but I've changed my opinion now! How fun!

I am so sorry to hear about your job! I've been on that same hunt for a year and a half. Grrr. I've been subbing in the school system during this time, so I've had the last two summers off. GREAT time for knitting!!!
