Anybody know of a decent piece of software exclusively for knitting, (such as designs and so on) if I could find it on Pocket PC that would be even better. Thx in advance.

I have Sweater Wizard and love it. There's a demo available here (http://www.software4knitting.com/psweaterwizard/demo1.htm). I tried several demos of other sweater-making programs, and this was by far my favorite. Lots going for it. Easy to use; gives yardage estimates; quite adaptable to make the pattern your own. What more could you ask for?
Note sure about the pocket pc part.

Well, I could ask for a lot more, but I will evaluate the software before I do :) Other than that I did find some software from Nancy's knit knacks that I think I'll look into, called the E-knit kards. it's basically a digital version of the knit kards that the website sells, and that I've seen in my LYS.
But you seem so knowledgeable, amy, perhaps you could direct me to finding a 10 lbs bag of 5 dollar bills? :roflhard:

With as many software engineers we have.. don't ya think we could make something for the folks in the community?
I'd be willing to lend my time.. :)

I don't currently have the sweater wizard (but I'm hoping!). I have had the same companie's Sock Wizard and it is awsome! I just type in the style, gauge and size I want and it prints out a single sheet pattern I can tuck into my sock bag that gives me a perfectly fitting sock every time. If the Sweater Wizard is half as good I would highly recommend it!

well norman, that would be a great idea, might need to reverse engineer a couple of the knitting programs to get an idea of how they work, possibly incorporate amy's videos, (with her permission of course). figure we could incorporate quite a few features into it as well. I'm not a software engineer, but I've done enough testing to last a few lifetimes.

Ohhh adding the videos was a good thought..
Reverse Engineering is the name of the game.. but you have to be very carefull to make it different enough.. know what I mean.. I mean you want to have the concepts.. but you don't want to trample on thier Intellecutal property.. but I've done stuff like that before :)

Except that you are better looking, knit better, and we wont even get into the truck and hooters thing again. (that's a different thread).

I'm not sure if i should be offended for being called snarky... or feel complemented because I'm in such good company.
