This was my first attempt at Intarsia. I would not recommend that newbies try plaid. I almost burned the needles, threw the yarn out the window and killed myself. But it turned out really well and was definitely a learning experience. Next time I'll cheat and do the tiny vertical stripes when it is done!
Here is the link to the general chihuahua sweater pattern I started with. The plaid I made up, and I have since changed the general pattern many times. I just make it up as I go now!

Well, your frustration paid off 'cause that is *gorgeous*!!! Very nice work.
Having done a small amount of Intarsia, myself, I can understand what a challenge that must have been!

That is ADORABLE! I'm gonna have to try that if I ever finish the scarf and the sweater that are currently using up my needles...

Yeah, I was just trying to figure out how much yarn would have been needed for my former St. Bernard, who easily cleared a svelte 140 pounds. Of course, since Saints are MEANT for cold weather, perhaps the sweater would have been a tad redundant. They are, after all, mountain dogs.

Wow CarmenIbanez, that is AWESOME!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!
Sooooooo darn cute. And wow that's a great job for your first intarsia!! When you said you did it all in intarsia, my eyes went wide. I can see why you wanted to throw it out the window! Those single stripes would take patience! But BOY did you do a nice job!! :inlove:

I have learned that knowledge does not lead me to more complex knitting, but simpler knitting that looks complex! :-) I didn't know enough to know I was in over my head!
