Birthday gifts galore!

I've been a busy little knitting bee the last couple weeks trying to finish some birthday gifts and I'm finally done with a few things!! :happydancing:

First is my booga/tote bag I made:

Next is the first present for my sister's birthday, she loved the Dream Swatch pattern and wears headbands and whatnot all the time, so I think she'll mostly wear this as a hair wrap sort of thing:

try and ignore the obvious spots where I incorrectly re-arranged my stitches on the cross-overs. Heh. Considering I've been knitting less than 4 months, I figure it could be worse, right? :shrug: Hee.

I used yarn from Twisted Sisters for her present, as that certainly defines us :twisted:

She turns 21 tomorrow, so I thought it would be funny to give her a beer cozy to use when drinking her first legal adult beverage. :clink: I was with her when she bought the top she is wearing that night, so it will even match her outfit, heh.

Finally, I'm working on socks for my Dad's birthday on June 4th. I don't think I have any chance of finishing both socks before then, so I'm contemplating giving him one for his birthday and one for Father's Day :teehee:

That dream swatch is a fabulous pattern! Is it a free online pattern somewhere? Great yarn colour choice too.

The felting went very well and again I think a great choice of yarn combination. Just a little 'glitz' lifts the item. Glad to see Clay didn't get felted too! Did you punch holes in the felt for the straps? I also *have* to ask..the Dream S...is that on a real rock or ..??

That scarf is neat!! I just saw a scarf someone did and they used that stitch on the ends - about 4 inches on each end. It looked really cool.

I saw a similar pattern for a scarf on Vicky Howells show on DIY (the name escapes me right now) but it was done with a mohair type yarn.

Everything looks great! I LOVE the booga bag! You picked great colors! And the pattern for the dream swatch is very interesting! I've never seen anything like it before. The socks are awesome too! I'm sure your dad is going to love them, whenever he receives them!

I actually did not care for the yarn I used, even though it's gorgeous in color. I loved the pattern though and will definitely knit it again for myself in a different fiber.

The Booga/Tote Bag was done in two shades of Plymouth Galway and the funky yarn that I made the stripes with is Plymouth Gabrielle. It was 75% wool and 25% other crap, I think? Anyway, it felted in very nicely with the rest of the wool :lol:

The beer cozy was just done with some random TLC Essentials I had from when I was first learning. I loved the colorway.

Finally, the socks are Regia Silk and I have to say so far, I love this yarn. It's so soft and has a lovely sproing factor. It's not scratchy at all and it's knitting up beautifully.
